About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Mortgage & Fixed Income Investments Model Manager to lead the Investment Portfolio Model Governance responsibilities. This position will report to the Head of the Business Risk, Administration, Strategy and Support (BRASS) team. The role is responsible for leading and implementing model governance for models developed by the Mortgage Model Development Center (MMDC) as well as model owned by the Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) and other model users.
This role is also responsible for partnering closely with finance and enterprise model governance and validation teams, addressing model risk findings with developers and users, supporting Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities and managing model development implementation projects.
In this role, you will:
- Lead implementation of model change activity across multiple quantitative mortgage models, working closely with the model development center, model users and model governance partners.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure model monitoring, KPI, reporting, testing data and other deliverables meet governance expectations, are documented appropriately and provided on time to oversight partners.
- Build the Investment Portfolio Model Governance team in India.
- Define, prioritize and track model development activities.
- Support Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) requirements as both a process and control owner
- Report progress and escalate concerns and issues proactively to senior management.
- Support internal audits, independent testing and examinations
- Generate monthly and quarterly model management reporting.
- 7+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- A BS/BA degree or higher in business or finance
- 4+ years of model risk management and model governance experience
- Experience researching complex issues, distilling information into concise presentations, and offering actionable resolutions
- Experience with audit, regulators, and testing teams
- Experience with JIRA
- Familiarity with mortgage and/or fixed income investment analysis
- Ability to establish strong partnerships with model developers, model users and model governance stakeholders and lead collaborative discussion with large working groups
- Ability to prioritize work based on strategic importance, urgency, and complexity
- Ability to take initiative and work independently in partnership with key stakeholders in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
